SU (24-8) moved on to quarterfinals with a hard-fought second-half comeback to beat the pesky Pirates (15-18). Trailing by 10 twice in the first half, SU came back behind James Sutherland’s three-point shooting (17 first half points) to tie the game 34-34 at halftime.
I don’t know what has happened with Grant. He was good in limited play early, earning more minutes, then James was suspended and he really stepped up his game, then James came back and he’s done nothing since
The Aztecs and 49ers did not do the Orange any favors with their late season struggles. However, if the 49ers are able to win their conference tournament, Syracuse will have two more quality wins against Tournament teams.
