Tough break for Boeheim’s Army with Tyler Lydon dropping out. On to today’s recruiting links…

Syracuse got some good news heading into the long weekend, with 2021 three-star South Carolina defensive end Jatius Geer committing to the Orange via Twitter on Thursday morning. Geer selected SU over offers from Georgia Tech, Kansas State and UCF, among others. He joins Hayden Nelson and Derek McDonald as DE commitments in SU’s 2021 class.

The Orange is also hoping that it’s not done receiving commitments for the week. Syracuse priority quarterback target Justin Lamson is expected to make his college choice on Friday, according to Syracuse.com’s Stephen Bailey. Lamson is rated three-stars by 247 Sports, and the Oak Ridge (CA) native is down to the Orange and Louisville as his finalists.

The Orange is also potentially closing in on another defensive commitment, this one from Milford (Penn.) three-star linebacker prospect Jason Henderson. On Wednesday, Henderson announced on Twitter he had cut his list to seven schools, including Syracuse, Buffalo, Old Domnion, Temple, Florida Atlantic, James Madison and Villanova. The Orange is the only Power 5 school of his final list.

On the basketball front, Syracuse made the final eight for elite 2021 wing Arthur Kaluma on Wednesday, he announced on Instagram. The Glendale (Ariz.) four-star prospect listed the Orange and also Arkansas, USC, Oklahoma, UNLV, Arizona State, Texas A&M and Kansas in his final schools. The Orange extended an offer to Kaluma back in April, and has a 247 Composite ranking of 36 in his year.

Finally, Syracuse commit Dior Johnson is considering a reclassification from 2022 to 2021, according to Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten. Johnson is the No. 1 rated point guard in the class of 2022, and is a five-star prospect. He transferred to Oak Hill Academy in the offseason, and is SU’s highest ranked commitment since Carmelo Anthony.

That’s all for today. Have a great Thursday!
