Recruiting Roundup: Kevin Johnson Jr. says Syracuse showing ‘plenty of love’

Congratulations to former Syracuse player Malachi Richardson, who reportedly had a great pro day, and will meet with the Phoenix Suns today. On to today’s recruiting links…

2018 New Jersey wide receiver Kevin Johnson Jr. tweeted on Tuesday that the Syracuse coaching staff “showed plenty of love today” during their visit with him. While Johnson does not have an offer yet from the Orange, he is hoping the “blessing comes down.” Johnson is the son of the former Syracuse player who went on to star in the NFL.

Scout has upgraded Syracuse commit Tommy DeVito to a three-star prospect, writes CuseNation.com’s Mike McAllister. DeVito was invited to the Elite 11 finals, and was named as one of those 11. He was previously a two-star prospect.

Scout.com’s Michael Clark writes that Virginia offensive lineman Tyran Hunt is hearing the most from Duke, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Hunt also tells Clark that he’s planning to visit Syracuse this summer. The 2017 prospect holds a three-star ranking from Scout.

2017 Florida linebacker Demarco Artis received an offer from the Orange back in April. He released his top 12 schools on Tuesday via Twitter, and Syracuse was not on the list. Among the schools include Ole’ Miss, Maryland, Iowa State, Indiana and Louisville.

That’s all for today. See you all tomorrow!
