Recruiting Roundup: Syracuse basketball offers Hamidou Diallo

To start off today, I wanted to wish a Happy Birthday to 2016 Syracuse commit Tyus Battle! He’s clearly got a great future in front of him. On to today’s links…

Syracuse extended an offer to 2017 five-star guard Hamidou Diallo from Putnam Science Academy (CT), reports SNY.tv’s very own, Adam Zagoria. Syracuse assistant coach Gerry McNamara was on hand to watch Diallo earlier in the month. The Orange joins a crowded field for Diallo, which includes high-majors Kansas, Florida, Villanova, Maryland, Louisville, N.C. State, Indiana and UConn.

2017 big man prospect Nick Richards from St. Patrick’s (NJ) had a huge audience on hand to watch him on Wednesday afternoon, reports Zagoria. The schools in attendance included Arizona, Georgetown, Indiana, BC and Hofstra. Richards, the 18th ranked prospect in his class according to Scout.com, holds offers from Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, UCLA, Villanova and Syracuse.

Quade Green took an unofficial visit to Syracuse on Wednesday, reports Scout.com’s Ben Sigel. Green is a four-star recruit from St. John Neumann (Pa.) who holds offers from Maryland, Providence, Rutgers, Syracuse and Villanova, among others.

One note on football: Scout.com’s Mike McAllister reports that several recruits will be on hand at Saturday’s LSU game. 2016 New Jersey commits Jamal Holloway, Dymelle Parker and Sadiq Palmer will be attending. 2017 wide receiver target Noah Jordan-Williams from CBA will also be there. Jordan-Williams holds offers from the Orange and Buffalo.

A melancholy note to end today as we pay our respects to legendary Yankees catcher Yogi Berra. Among my favorite Yogi-igms include: “A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.” “When you come to a fork in the road, take it.” “You can observe a lot by just watching.” And finally, “It’s like déjà vu all over again.” Enjoy your Thursdays, everyone.
