Year 2 of the Shafer era starts this weekend

David Ryslik, Peddie School (Hightstown, N.J.) defensive tackle and member of the NJ.com Top 50, saw his recruitment rise throughout the spring evaluation period, earning multiple offers as coaches stopped by his school to inquire about the 6-3, 280-pound senior. “(Syra)cuse is still recruiting me pretty hard in terms of schools I have offers from. Temple still comes hard,” he said. “Wake Forest, they said that if I get down there and visit that they’ll probably throw me an offer. Then the schools I’ve been talking to for a while like Maryland, Georgia Tech, Boston College, they are all schools that want me to come through before the season starts and they’ll probably throw me an offer after the season.”
