Prince-Tyson Gulley and Jerome Smith powered the Orange to 376 yards on the ground as Syracuse captured its second Pinstripe Bowl in two years, defeating West Virginia, 38-14, on a blustery, snowy day at Yankee Stadium.
In its last three games, Syracuse has averaged 38 points a game, while West Virginia finished 7th in the nation with 41.6 points per game, and was 6th overall in its passing attack at 340.9 yards a game.
Syracuse will have to adjust to the traveling conditions as they enter a new conference in the 2013-14 season, West Virginia football players said during the Pinstripe Bowl media day earlier this week.
Nassib could conceivably go in the second round, particularly considering his experience under Marrone, who was Sean Payton’s offensive coordinator with the New Orleans Saints in 2006.
