Perhaps no coach to pace the sidelines over the last century is more synonymous with a city and its hard-scrabble mentality than Jim Boeheim is to Syracuse. While Rick Pitino, John Calipari and Jerry Tarkanian made brief forays into the NBA over the past two decades, the son of a central New York funeral home owner remained loyal to the Syracuse program and community.
