2011 Football preview – Week 11, Cincinnati

Butch Jones inherited a Bearcats team last year that had won two straight Big East Conference Championships and had won a combined 23 games during that two year stretch. But with many of the playmakers that made that run possible gone, Jones’ team struggled to a 4-8 season and Cincinnati missed a bowl game for the first time since 2007.

Orange draw Gators in inaugural Big East/SEC Challenge

No. 12 Florida will visit the Carrier Dome to take on No. 4 Syracuse on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN. This will mark the third time in four years the two squads have met. The Orange topped the Gators 89-83 in the 2008 CBE Classic semifinal and won 85-73 in Tampa the following season as part of the 2009 SEC/Big East Invitational.

2010 marked a return to relevance for the Louisville Cardinals after three straight disappointing seasons. The departure of Steve Kragthorpe and the arrival of Charlie Strong helped the Cardinals to a 7-6 record and a 31-28 win over Southern Miss in the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl.

Q&A with former SU football coach Paul Pasqualoni

Paul Pasqualoni needs no introduction to Syracuse football fans. Pasqualoni concluded his 14-year tenure at Syracuse as the Orange’s second-winningest coach with 107 victories. Following his time with Syracuse, Pasqualoni coached with the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys before returning to the Big East as the head coach of Connecticut. He recently spoke with The Juice Online’s Brad Bierman during Big East media day.
