Orange doesn’t travel far, neither does anyone else
Jim Boeheim and his team have become the punching bag for not playing on the road during the non-conference slate. Vitale even asked Santa to give the coach some frequent flier miles for the holidays so his team can take some trips outside of the New York-New Jersey area next year. Pundits seem to think Madison Square Garden is located at the corner of Marshall Street and University Avenue. Vitale’s latest argument redefines state lines.
Typical weaknesses resurface
After Syracuse beat Drexel in late December I wrote, “Recently, this team has shown no signs the normal weak spots Syracuse teams struggle with. Bad free throw shooting? … Poor three-point shooting? … Careless with the ball?” They had exhibited none of those normal weaknesses. But they reverted to those typical Syracuse flaws and then some against Seton Hall on Saturday. They wound up winning, 61-56 but it should’ve never been that close.
